Mass-shifting control (MSC) or weight-shift control (WSC)
of kites, kite-gliders, gliders

Purposes of study: safe and enjoyable flying of aircraft.  Secondarily, to appreciate niche systems' designs. Also, to advance kiting, hang gliding, and AWES.  To understand the mix of MSC with aerodynamic-surface control (ASC).

For studies, all volunteers and guests are welcome to contribute articles, links, comments, special images, etc.
  • Studies done for powered aircraft with an eye to power-off gliding of those craft.
  • MSC in combination with aerodynamic controls.
  • Systems that have almost no aerodynamic controls while having dominate the MSC.
  • Uninhabited systems and human-inhabited systems are studied.
  • Do birds use MSC?
  • Do insects use MSC?
  • Do flying seeds use MSC?
  • History of WSC or MSC in gliding
  • History of WSC or MSC in uninhabited kiting
  • History of WSC or MSC in manned foot-launch hang gliding
  • History of WSC or MSC in towed aqua kiting
  • History of WSC or MSC in towed water ski kiting
  • Radio-controlled gliders using MSC only
  • R-C gliders using MSC in combination with aerodynamic surface control
  • R-C gliders using no MSC control
