Single-tether airframed-paraglider hang gliders:
  • Atos Rigid Wing Hang Glider Towing by Martin Henry.

Note:  "rigid-wig hang glider that is yet mechanically (because it is a gliding-kite system) a true paraglider of single-tether (unlike the non-paraglider hang glider of Otto Lilienthal).   Here, the pilot is suspended close enough so he may manipulate the triangle control airframe parts. ~JpF          [[Road for truck, truck, fuel for truck, driver of truck, communications with driver, skill of driver, payout winch, maintenance of the winch, launch rack, release mechanism, skills for launching by this method, long towing tether, dust from truck's driving, airspace for the long towing line, driver wait time, interwoven liabilities, permits for road use, reliability of the road's texture. Contrast with other means to launch from flats. ]]

Truck payout towing launch of tailed ATOS in Washington state, USA.   The pilot, after releasing from being kited by the moving mooring truck, is the new resistive set main element that then by virtue of gravity and potential energy continues a kiting of the wing via tension through a single kite tether; the system becomes a gliding kite (paraglider) after release from the truck-towing action.   ~JpF
