    • Powered aircraft tethers wings. This activity comes in many forms. Aerotow of hang gliders, gliders, sailplanes, paragliders, etc. is a powered-anchor kiting scene.
    • Powered parachutes. Powered parafoil rigs.  The motor or engin is with the pilot and such tethers a wing above or set of wings.
    • Robotic powered anchors that move under wings with 3D freedom in the air. The anchor tugs the kite system's wing set.
       
  • Moving powered anchor of the kite system stays on the ground. The wing above may be manner or not.
    • Human-powered: Human holds line and runs or walks.
    • Truck tows a wing. Wing may be manned or not.
       
  • Moving powered anchor of the kite system stay in the sea or ocean or lake or river. The moving powered anchor may be a ship, boat, sailboat, powered hydrofoil, set of human swimmers, a whale, a dolphin, etc.  The wing above may be manned or not.
