Miles Handley and Hiway Explorer
Manufacturer: Hiway
Model: Explorer

Hiway Explorer Hang Glider, manufactured by Hiway and Miles Handley in 1983. When the company stopped and some matters were transferred, then the model was discontinued.

The Hiway Explorer was definitely with a cable leading edge. But we are seeking details about just what the cable may have carried; did the cable carry a seating of rib battens? Did the cable carry any stiff leading-edge shaper?

Details are invited to Lift. Thanks    Editor@UpperWindPower.com

Tony Prentice and Brett Snellgrove (RIP, Lovetosaurus!] were revisiting a study of the Hiway Explorer.  JoeF noted that some OR discussion might be found on the model.   [ ]

Discussion study notes:

The Don Liddard video at 10:08 f  point seems to me to be showing a leading-edge aerodynamic control surface; does anyone have facts on this challenge?    Appears to be helpful in turning.
