Alton W. Hutson of Richmond, California for "Kite" instruct

This is a reissuance reissue on September 30, 1958.  The original was No. 2804276, dated August 27, 1957.  "Matter enclosed in heavy brackets [ ] appears in the original patent but forms no part of this reissue specification; matter printed in itealics indicate the additons made by reissue. "

Date challenge: The filing date on the first figure is June 23, 1955; so how does that date relate to "original" 2894276, dated August 27, 1957; resolution of the question is in the filing date of the "original" which is found to be the same filing date as so printed on the reissue for the figure.

Of the 6 Claims, what are our comments?

Since this instruction does not mention Rogallo's flexible wing kite patent, and since this patent is a mechanical function kite, it may be challenging to discern if there are any novel mechanicals or functions that differ from Rogallo's and perhaps others' earlier instructions. The drawing are not to distract from the more important text claims.

Subject: Igor Bensen's manned kite-glider

Igor Bensen in early 1950s managed to install the already-in-hang-gliding
 tensionally-hung-pilot-behind-triangle-control-frame
weight-shift control system. He managed to use such mechanics
that had been exhibited by the 1908 Breslau gliding club where
the triangle control frame was cable-stayed; we still use the same
system in most of today's hang gliders. The car-carried kite-glider of Bensen
gained a high press following and hobbyist and sport following with images
 in literature throughout the world.

Wind-driven driving apparatus employing kites

Patent number: 6072245
Filing date: Nov 12, 1997
Issue date: Jun 6, 2000

Many variations of kites and kite systems are touched during astronaut Ockels' instructions.  It is to be noted that Douglas Selsem in the 1970s notarized a disclosure on a laddermill type system, which explore.   Ockels' team is moving the use of the term "laddermill" to kite systems that may not be of the ladder type; this is something to watch carefully.

Subject: 1953 by Green

Filed: October 27,  1953, by Wilbur Green of Texax.   Fun is in the detail teaching.

But to start: Wilbur Green understood the flexible wing with a crossbar using three main-wing booms that would show again in kites and hang gliders to the present; delta-wing kite-gliders are familiar in art to Green here.  He is aware of Wanner's nose-connector holder that permitted sans crossbar.  Green is highly focused on connectors while showing that there is extant flexible wings already in the public domain for those skilled in the arts.
