Passive North-Pointing Glider; Compass Rose Kite

Use a long strong bar magnet to trim-balance a model glider, aligning along the fuselage, with South pole at the nose. If released high in a large indoor space without drafts, the glider will eventually assume North course.

Rig a disc-shaped kite to rotate freely, while keeping bulk flying orientation. Mount small super magnets oriented to a printed compass rose on the disc. Whatever direction the kite flies, its compass rose points North.
