Introducing X-Wind (Uwe Ahrens) to TUK Research Team

Dear Uwe, Maja, Max, and Nicolas,

NTS/X-Wind is a longtime key conceptual player in German AWE R&D. While the idea of doing AWE from ground vehicles on tracks dates back at least to [Lang, Drachen Foundation, 2004], no one has done more than Aeronautical Engineer, Uwe Ahrens, to develop such technology. His original company, NTS, even built a large rail-track with electrical motor/gen locomotives (2013 image below). Now Uwe has reorganized as X-Wind, with all the technical infrastructure assets and IP of NTS.

TUK has also identified electric-locomotives on rails as a promising basis for AWE. The best AWES kite topology is an open question, with NTS previously assuming single unit-kites topology, but TUK also exploring multi-kite multi-r topologies. There is an obvious major technical overlap between the two German players, in their locomotive actuation-generation concepts. It would be wonderful if you all review each others' work and proceed to collaborate.
