Santos Dynamic-Contraction Variable-Porosity Kite Fabric When wind load exceeds a design limit, an engineered elastic response of kite fabric could allow air to pass through to depower it. In an optimal response, a soft wing might actually flatten itself by fabric contraction, while increasing bypass.
