Sport:  hang gliding where the kite line is the kite-tether hang line to the pilot; the pilot is the falling mooring; the kite wing reacts with winds in such an arrangement that a net tracking through the air is effected called gliding and soaring. Two main divisions occur: string-controlled without frame holding by pilot (paragliding) and the frame-controlled sort where the hung pilot often holds the airframe of the kite to press changes in the relative position of his mass with the mass of the kite wing (hang gliding is then the brief term). Both sorts are generic hang gliding, but the stark differences provide cause for a branching of focus. Both sorts are free-flight AWECS or  FF-AWECS.
