[Ed: That kite line is very stiff and probably expensive.]

27Apr2009 Faust and Santos move ahead on close-coupled crosswind tipping boom with driven crank axis windward on ground-based generator for low footprint and high crosswind power-cycle capture. FlipperWings have a role to play here too. Lifters can include kytoons so low or high wind remains active arena.

20Apr2009 == Dr. Eric Schmidt, Chairman and CEO of Google Inc.  Smart grid needed now. And energy efficiency as resource now.  Performance-based standards for energy efficiency. Plug-in hybrids. Smart meters for homes. Open systems. Open standards. Fund university R& D.  Patent reform. Energy...need to get it right.  Engagement. Encourage debate. Embrace all.  Use the crowds.

2Apr2009 http://home.iitk.ac.in/~tksen/TKsite/RobinsMagnus/Robins_Magnus.pdf  [Ed:  A wing of just two edges (leading and trailing) that alternates which of those two edges plays the role of "leading edge"  may be called a shuntWing; the infinite case of a wing kin to such two-edge shunting wing would be the rotating cylinder wing used in various sailing, kiting, signage, turbine, etc. applications. The proa sail alternation of leading edge called "shunting"  is a slow cycling; such alternation of parts playing leading-edge roles may play a role in renewable-energy kite systems.  See also: Rotor, Flettner, Magnus-effect, Robins effect, rotoplane, rotating ribbon arch kite. Some flipwings shunt, some do not shunt.]
