Single moving part:  But Fry and Hise realized that a driveshaft could be the single moving part. They taught past that also and faced the challenges of high altitude which would have some rotors experience significant different winds and so taught clutching and disengaging. Since they realized single-moving part (driveshaft with mounted rotors) then such could not be an inventive step by Selsam later; Selsam seems not to face long driveshaft going through varied wind layers with the impact of varied wind speeds. |
